Essential Now More Than Ever

Dear VMS Families,

 

We have launched our 2021 Annual Fund Campaign! Here are the details about this important fund for our school:

 

For over 45 years, VMS has provided respectful, engaging, innovative Montessori Education for east bay families. During the ongoing pandemic, our commitment to high standards of practice has kept our students and staff safe, healthy and academically engaged. Maintaining these educational and safety standards certainly came at a cost as our school was hit with the financial impact of Covid19 along with many other individuals and businesses. To cover the true cost of running our exceptional school, VMS relies not only on tuition but also on annual fund contributions as an essential funding component. As with most independent schools, tuition and fees provide the majority of revenue, yet a portion of our annual operating income is needed from fundraising. Each year, we ask everyone in our community to come together and make a meaningful annual fund gift in support of our school allowing us to maintain our high educational standards, enhance our programs and ensure the financial future of VMS.

 

All donations to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible and directly support teachers and programs. These additional funds allow us to provide essential supplies, professional development and additional support to our dedicated teachers, as well as continue to attract and retain exceptional, passionate Montessori educators. In essence, Annual Fund dollars allow us to strengthen our programs each year beyond what is possible with tuition alone. At VMS, we are committed to continuous improvement of our programs, while adhering to the Montessori values that guide and unite us.

 

Annual giving allows tuition to be set lower than it otherwise would be without the support of tax-deductible gifts. This intentional tuition structure allows for more economic diversity among VMS families. Annual giving asserts that everyone in our community can participate in the financial life of the school as we work together to maintain the integrity of our programs in spite of the ongoing financial impact of Covid19 on the school and our families.

 

Many employers have a payroll deduction option and may provide matching funding opportunities that could double your gift. Parents are encouraged to ask their employers about a matching gift program. Sign-ups are typically made online through the employer’s website and donations are deducted at time of payroll and the funds disbursed to VMS monthly or quarterly. Note that the legal name for VMS is Tri-Valley Montessori School. Corporations may have the school listed under either name. VMS Tax ID: 94-3215556.
