Nargees Jumahan holds a Bachelor of Arts & History from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio and her America Montessori Society Elementary I and II credentials from St. Mary’s College. She has worked in a variety of educational settings in the Bay Area including CASA Rooftop of San Francisco and other Montessori schools. Prior to joining VMS, Nargees was the recipient of the esteemed Horace Mann Fellowship from Antioch College from 2011-2015, co-founded a nonprofit organization to work with orphaned children, and opened a women’s community center in Afghanistan.

Nargees joined VMS in 2021. As an Upper Elementary Teacher, she enjoys working with students to empower, encourage, and inspire them to take charge of their education and become global citizens. She has a passion for social justice and developing mindful and caring citizens. Nargees spends her free time painting, gardening, and writing her memoirs.
