SHEILA MERTEN

Sheila Merten received her American Montessori Society credential in Early Childhood Education from the Montessori Institute of Advanced Studies and has a Bachelor’s degree. She has studied Orff Music, worked for the Agency for Infant Development and offered classes for LARPD prior to working at local Montessori schools. She is a Professional Growth Advisor and Mentor teacher for the County of Alameda supporting teachers to receive more training. Sheila has trained teachers at the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies. She joined the VMS staff in 1999 and has worked as a primary teacher for much of that time, including this year in the Bay Laurel classroom.
