Tim Vanier is the VMS physical education teacher for children in primary through middle school. His main goal is to help children develop a joy of movement and a belief in themselves. Tim believes that developing a healthy and active lifestyle is an integral part of developing the whole child.  Tim has worked as a physical education teacher and athletic director at Presidio Hill School in San Francisco and Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Day School in San Mateo. He worked closely with the Positive Coaching Alliance, which helped shape his philosophy of the importance of brushing off mistakes, teamwork, and putting forth your best effort. Tim played college soccer at the University of New Hampshire and competed in triathlons to feed his active lifestyle. Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Political Science from the University of New Hampshire. Tim also holds a K-8 Elementary Certification from the University of Arizona in their Post Baccalaureate Professional Teacher Program. His hobbies include biking and hiking with his family, trying new recipes, and co-coaching his daughter’s 3rd grade soccer team.
